The original is comfortable on a phone. The sequel is the point in this series where a tablet stops being a luxury, and the reason is specific rather than general: a 3x5 board stacks two layers of information in the same place. A coin carries a value, and a multiplier cell can sit on that same position modifying it. Two numbers, one square, and only so many pixels to share between them.
Where the eight-inch line falls
Eight inches in landscape is roughly the threshold at which those two numbers stop competing. Below it — small slates, oversized phones — you are back to the compromises of the phone page , which are survivable but real. Above it, at 11 inches and beyond, you gain comfort rather than information: nothing new appears, the same board simply occupies more glass. If you own either size, you own enough.
Four things to do before the feature arrives
- Rotate to landscape, then lock the rotation — a tablet held loosely on a lap flips at the worst moment, and a redraw mid-re-spin is maddening.
- Hide the browser bars, or use a home-screen shortcut, so the grid gets the full height.
- Open the paytable once and read the jackpot tiers properly. On a tablet this takes a minute; on a phone most players never do it at all.
- Close split-screen for real play. Running the free demo beside the Coin Volcano 2 hub is a good way to learn the cell rules, but two panes on an 8-inch slate leave the board smaller than a phone would.
iPads and Android tablets are not interchangeable
